Franklin Township and the other four municipalities in the General McLane School District, Edinboro and McKean boroughs, and Washington and McKean Townships, have joined together with the District to provide tax incentives available to potential new homeowners and new business, commercial or industrial developers/owners that want to "Get the McLane Advantage."

For new residential construction there is a 100 percent tax abatement for all real estate taxes for three years.  For new business, commercial, industrial construction there is a five year abatement for real estate taxes on a reducing percentage--100 percent in the first year, 80 percent in the second year, 60 percent in the third year, 40 percent in the fourth year and 20 percent in the fifth year.  To claim the residential exemptions applications must be received and building permits granted by December 31, 2014.  Business, commercial and industrial exemption applications must be received and building permits granted by June 30, 2016.
